Sophie (The
Poem)
She came into my life after only a year
I gave her love and she gave
me cheer
Sophie became my furry little child
At times she was a just a little
bit wild
She became my best friend and a huge part of each day
She made me
laugh in her own special way
I'd come home from work knowing she would be there
Someone to hold and someone to care.
She is getting older now and can’t do as she once could
I take
care of her and make sure she has everything as I should
To hug her
and kiss her was a daily treat
Sometimes I’d wake up with
her licking my feet
Today she has left me and now I must move on
I can’t stop
crying for I can’t believe she’s gone
Her name was Sophie;
the thought brings me to tears
I just wish I could go back about eighteen
years
